North East Beer Review

For today’s review I am covering the Full Circle Brew Co Inner Circle Pack which consists of brews such as the famous Looper, the Gluten Free option in Hoop, as well as Rotator and Repeater. I am familiar with Full Circle having tried a plethora of different brews and having visited the former Pip Stop site in Lanchester, Co Durham. So for this multi-pack review I will perform a minor review on each type of Inner Circle can and whether the box is worth it. Cheers

Full Circle Brew Co History

Full Circle Brew Co was founded in 2019 by Ben Cleary. Ben came from the family that is responsible for Lanchester Wines and the family has a history in beer industry by running numerous pubs. Before Full Circle, Ben ran the Pip Stop in Maiden Law, Co Durham which was an alcohol retailer. Interestingly enough I had visited this place numerous times as I went to pick up continental beer options such as Quilmes, Alhambra and Hofbräu Dunkel. As a former resident of Stanley, I certainly knew the influence that the family had on the local area in terms of employment and the community. The name Full Circle is meant to represent the idea of the family returning to its roots.

The brewery itself is located in Hoults Yard, Newcastle and currently use then old railway building to house a 3,000l brewing kit. Full Circle has a major focus on sustainability such as using a Nitrogen generator to reduce C02 usage by 83% and aim to reuse spent grain and yeast in many ways such as feed or briquettes. As of 2025, they now produce 10,000hl of beer per year and employ 22 staff.

The head brewer of Full Circle is Alex Redpath, who was educated at the Sunderland based Brewlabs which famous worldwide for its teachings in the art of brewing. I have visited their taproom before and I definitely recommend. Their philosophy centres on ‘full bodied, full-flavoured beers’. Over the years, they have invested in quality control, yeast management and efficiency whilst also engaging in community projects such as charitable and sustainability- focused campaigns.

Time for the brews

1-Full Circle Brew Co Looper

Looper is the extremely reputable flagship Hazy IPA of Full Circle Brew Co. It is brewed with Citra, Mosaic and Cashmere hops and carries an ABV of 6.4%. This award winning brew gives you a juicy blend of tropical fruits as well as grapefruit and lemon. Looper pours a yellow to golden colour which is distinctly hazy in nature. Its head retained throughout the drinking experience, leaving a decent amount of lacing. Looper offers an immediate hit of tropical and citrus fruits such as mango, pineapple, grapefruit and lemon. This is soft, smooth and velvety and the bitterness is gentle. Overall, I rate Looper a 4.25 out of 5.

2-Full Circle Brew Co Repeater

Repeater is a 4.2% Session IPA which is marketed as being dangerously drinkable. It is hopped with Centennial, Amarillo and Mosaic hops which gives an American profile as well as juicy citrus notes. Repeater pours a yellow to golden colour which is distinctly hazy in appearance. A foamy white head forms which retains throughout. Repeater opens with bright tropical and citrus fruits such as mango as well as explosions of grapefruit, lemon and orange. This is followed by piney bitterness as well as a slight malt sweetness. Despite being light, this was quite soft and smooth which matches the resinous finish. Overall, I rate Repeater a 4 out of 5.

3- Full Circle Brew Co Hoop

Hoop is Full Circle’s Gluten-Free Pale Ale which contains an ABV of 4.8%. It is hopped with Cascade and Chinook hops which provide a resinous and zesty kick. Hoop pours golden colour which has a slight hazy appearance. A foamy white head forms which retains throughout. Hoop opens with a bitter citrus flavour mainly that of lemon and grapefruit as well as a resinous pine note. This moves onto a juicy tropical flavour such as passionfruit and perhaps pineapple. This finish is crisp with a subtle malt note to balance out the brew. Overall, I rate this 3.75 out of 5.

4- Full Circle Brew Co Rotator

Rotator is a 5.2% Hazy Pale which is an evolution of their brew called BETA. It is described as an all day drinker and is hopped with both Citra and Idaho 7 hops. Rotator pours a deep yellow to golden colour with the trademark unfiltered nature. A thin bubbly white head forms which doesn’t quite last the drinking session. Rotator opens with juicy citrus led burst, the likes of lemon and orange. This is followed by a tropical note of pineapple and a sprinkling of stonefruit. A piney bitterness gives this brew an extra edge to go with smooth oaty malt base. The finish is clean with a lingering citrusy bitterness. Overall, I rate this 4 out of 5.

Is the Full Circle Brew Co Inner Circle multi-pack worth it?

Overall, I feel the Inner Circle multi-pack is worth as it gives you a chance to enjoy and savour Full Circle’s core lineup. I personally think Looper is the king of this pack and with its award winning reputation, the brew could make this a possible draw for those sampling the brewery.
