This is my first beer from Manchester-based Track Brewing Co. Wander With Me is an IPA and I will explore its roots further into the review. I bought this out of curiosity and for another brewery to tick off my list. Anyways, during the course of this review I will cover the history of the brew and brewery, the pour, the taste and aroma and finally what I think of this ale.
A brewery forged from travel
Track Brewing Co was founded in 2014 by Sam Dyson. The inspiration for this brewery came from Sam’s 2 year odyssey in which he cycled through 25 countries and 5 continents or the equivalent of around 35k miles. He stopped off at many microbreweries on his way and this inspired him to start his own brewery.
He gained some knowledge in London before moving back up to Manchester. Track’s first site was a small railway arch by Piccadilly Station. As demand and popularity grew, they upscaled to Piccadilly Trading Estate, not too far from the station. Track Brewing Co is very well known for its IPAs and hop forward ales.
Wander With Me could be a nod to Sam’s travelling past however one thing I do know is that it is hopped with Motueka and Citra (a mainstay at Track). This is a vegan friendly Hazy IPA and has an ABV of 6.5%. This comes in 440ml cans with Track’s iconic can design.
An inviting pour
When pouring into a glass, it has the immediate trademark hazy New England IPA appearance. It is a golden to orange colour and almost opaque. It has a decent head which is creamy and leaves a light lacing down the glass. It also has a moderate level of carbonation. Overall, a soft looking IPA which is inviting you to take a sip.
A beer that is upfront with its taste and aroma
As soon as this is poured it was bursting with a tropical aroma, with notes of passion fruit, mango and papaya. This has a citrus background possibly from mix of Citra and Motueka hops. I could sense hints of grapefruit too.
When taking my first sip, there was an immediate taste of juicy tropical-ness with passion fruit and mango leading the way. There was also a touch of lemon. There was smooth malt backbone which made the IPA very soft and sweet. There was a gentle bitterness which made this very refreshing along with a nice alcoholic bite. Overall, this was a clean and fruity beer which entices you to take more and more sips. Top notch this.
Time for my verdict
This was brilliant, I really enjoyed the tropical and smooth nature of this can. Visually, this is everything I want from a hazy IPA. At an ABV of 6.5%, this beer is surprisingly sessionable… until it isn’t. This is one of those beers that will catch you out. I would definitely recommend this beer and I will be looking out for more Track beers. I give this a 4.75 out of 5. Cheers

I ordered this from the legends at Lowcostbeer.com. I couldn’t recommend them enough. I had an issue with the courier DHL and Daniel was so so helpful. This issue was resolved in a timely manner and I could not fault them. Top notch service and I am looking forward to my next order with them. I think I paid £3.70 for the can.
