A beer purchased by my girlfriend as a gift. I believe this is the first beer I have had from Sureshot. Sureshot Too Busy Looking Good is the subject of this review. A cool can design as you can see, this is a New England IPA which of course is my preferred way to try and sample a new brewery. During the course of the review I will cover the history of this beer and brewery, the pour, the taste and aroma, and finally my verdict. Cheers
A brewery in Manchester
Sureshot Brewery is an independent brewery based in Manchester. A craft brewery known for its hop forward and iconic branding, it was founded in 2020 by James Campbell and Michael Forde. In 2022, they released their first beers after deciding to focus their brewing on quality, flavour and fun. Ever since, the brewery has brewed over 160 different beers and spanned this across many different beer styles. They have a large presence amongst beer festivals and in bars and shops across the United Kingdom. Their Sureshot taproom sits beneath Piccadilly Station in Manchester. Sureshot’s philosophy centers on brewing beers people love to drink without taking themselves too seriously ,reflected in the expressive names (often long and humorous) they give their beers.
Sureshot Too Busy Looking Good is a New-England IPA which carries a 6% ABV. This is hopped with a mixture of Bruce T90, Nelson Sauvin T90 and hop kief, Kohia Nelson and Maui Nelson hop kief. The can designs adorns a martial arts theme.
A hazy and radiant pour

When poured from the can, Too Busy Looking Good has a radiant, hazy yellow body which glows and is almost opaque. This gives a fresh juice look which is typical of a high quality NEIPA. A foamy head formed which lingered enough to leave a steady amount of lacing. Overall, an intriguing look which makes you want to sample.
A tropical taste and aroma
Aroma
When mentioning the aroma, it becomes apparent that this beer has a very pronounced tropical aroma such as passionfruit, mango and kiwi. This has an aroma similar to a fruit salad or smoothie which more inviting than overpowering. The bitterness is gentle which an earthy dankness which rounds this beer off. Overall, a balanced and inviting beer.
Taste
When taking a sip, on the palate this beer gives off flavours immediately similar to the aroma. This includes the fruit salad type of flavour which is comprised of mango, pineapple and kiwi. This has a gentle bitterness which is from the citrus edge. The beer has a smooth body which is extremely drinkable and would be sessionable if not for the 6% ABV. Overall, a very refreshing beer which has a juicy feel.
Time for my verdict
Overall, this beer was very smooth and drinkable. A tropical packed beer which has a lot of character ranging from can design to the pour. This was overall a good introduction to this Manchester based brewery. I feel beer was a nice tasting beer and I certainly enjoyed but was it my favourite, no not really. Overall, I rate this a 4 out of 5.
Where did I purchase this beer?
I was bought this beer by my girlfriend from Rehills of Jesmond. Top notch beer shop if you are in the Newcastle area.
